Pitch Deck

There’s No Dumb Ideas... We “Promise”

A Party Card game

What Even Is This?

Pitch Deck is the party game where players pitch the best movie ideas, blending wild genres, quirky characters, and unexpected twists. Each round, the Studio Head picks a winner, and the player with the most prompt cards takes the crown.

What's the Skinny?

Firsts Thing First

The Rules Are Simple

Don’t Suck… JK… Your goal? Craft the most outrageous, compelling movie pitch and collect Prompt Cards like your life depends on it. Draw 3 of each card type (Genre, Character, Story), and get ready to spin cinematic gold. Oh, and decide how many rounds you can handle before someone flips the table.

**** In The Box

Cards, Chaos, & Creativity

What’s in the box? Wild Genre Cards (think Sci-Fi Westerns), iconic Characters (hello, Iron Man), and bonkers Storylines (zombies meet 50 Shades of Grey). Plus, Prompt Cards to make your pitches even weirder. The Studio Head? They’re the boss… for now.

60 Secs is Fiinnne

Pitch or Ditch

Grab your cards, craft your pitch, and sell it in 60 seconds flat. Use your Genre, Story, and at least one Character Card to create the next blockbuster—or at least something good enough to win over the Studio Head. No pressure, but they hold all the power.

We're All Losers Here

Judged, Not Silenced

The Studio Head hears your pitch, laughs (or cringes), and picks their favorite. Winner gets the Prompt Card, and the Studio Head role moves clockwise. After all rounds, the player with the most Prompt Cards wins the ultimate honor: bragging rights forever.

You Need Even More Help?

Example? Say No More!

Picture this: You’ve got Sci-Fi, Sherlock Holmes, Pikachu, and a world where everyone is addicted to virtual reality in your hand. The Prompt Card? “Must include a talking cactus.”

Your pitch? “Sherlock Holmes and Pikachu team up to save humanity from a VR apocalypse. Their ace in the hole? Thornado, a foul-mouthed talking cactus who drinks tequila and holds the secret to shutting down the servers. Let’s just say… it gets prickly.

The Studio Head spits out their drink laughing and tosses you the Prompt Card. Boom—you’re one prick closer to eternal glory.

Pitch Deck: Game Rules

Objective

Create the most compelling project pitch using various cards and earn the most Prompt Cards by the end of the game.

Game Components

  • Genre Cards (Green): Represent the style or category of the project (e.g., Western, Sci-Fi, Romance).
  • Character Cards (Blue): Feature well-known or archetypal characters (e.g., Iron Man, Rose from Titanic).
  • Story Cards (Red): Contain plots, settings, or concepts (e.g., “Set in the world of 50 Shades of Grey,” “Set during a zombie apocalypse”).
  • Prompt Cards: Scenarios or requirements that must be included in the pitch (e.g., “The project must include a musical number”).
  • Studio Head: A rotating role that acts as the judge and dealer for the round.

Setup

  1. Determine Rounds: The number of rounds matches the number of players (e.g., 5 players = 5 rounds). Players can choose to add additional rounds.
  2. Initial Hand: Each player draws:
    • 3 Genre Cards
    • 3 Character Cards
    • 3 Story Cards

Rules

  1. Maintain Hand Size: Players must always have 9 cards in their hand. At the start of each round, draw one card of your choice (Genre, Character, or Story) to maintain this hand size.
  2. Prompt Card: The Studio Head draws a Prompt Card and reads it aloud before each round. All players must include the prompt in their pitch.

Player’s Turn

  1. Select Cards: During a player’s turn, they must use:
    • 1 Genre Card
    • 1 Story Card
    • 1 or more Character Cards
  2. Card Submission: Before pitching, all players place their selected cards face down in front of them. Once submitted, these cards cannot be changed.
  3. Pitch: Players reveal their cards and give a 60-second “Elevator Pitch” to explain why their project would be successful.

Judging and Scoring

  1. Studio Head Role: The Studio Head listens to all pitches and decides the winner of the round. They award the Prompt Card to the player with the best pitch.
  2. Rotation: After each round, the role of Studio Head rotates to the player on the right.

Winning Condition

  1. End of Game: After all rounds, the player with the most Prompt Cards is declared the winner.

    • Genre: Sci-Fi

With brilliant deduction and a shocking twist of electric power, they aim to save the world!”

  • Scoring:
The Studio Head laughs, nods, and declares, “This could be a hit!” awarding you the Prompt Card and one step closer to victory.
